One specific example involves a set of armor that costs either 15 Favor Tokens or Diablo IV Gold 750 Platinum (about $7.50). The UI showcases the Platinum purchase option front and center, while the token redemption is buried in a submenu. There's no confirmation screen when purchasing with Platinum, so a single misclick can cost players real money. This kind of UI design, many argue, feels deliberately misleading.
It’s not just a PC issue. Console users have encountered even more confusing design choices. Another Redditor pointed out how controller inputs are shuffled during the redemption process. The initial “Claim” prompt uses one button, but in the secondary screen, that same button suddenly becomes “Buy with Platinum,” while the option to use Favor Tokens moves elsewhere. This has led to accidental purchases and widespread frustration among console players-an issue that GameSpot confirmed in their own analysis.
Even the bundle pricing system has drawn ire. Players can buy individual premium Reliquaries for 500 Platinum each or purchase all three for 1,500 Platinum. But Blizzard also offers a “Battle Pass Bundle”-a term that no longer fits the current system-for 1,000 Platinum, which grants access to all three premium Reliquaries. It’s the best deal by far. However, there’s a catch: if a player buys even one Reliquary individually, whether by accident or design, they can no longer access the discounted bundle. Instead, they’re forced to buy the remaining Reliquaries at full price, costing them an extra 500 Platinum-roughly $5.
If you think that’s the worst of it, think again. There’s also a Deluxe Battle Pass Bundle priced at a staggering 2,800 Platinum, nearly triple the standard bundle. Yet the actual content barely justifies the price hike. What do players get for nearly $30 worth of Platinum? Access to the same armor set found in the regular bundle, plus a cosmetic pet and a pair of wings. That’s a lot of money for just two extras, and the community hasn’t been shy about calling it out as Diablo IV Gold for sale a poor value proposition.
